Hi, my name is Greg Nirshberg. I’m a faculty member in the Philosophy Department at Iona University. I’m also an advisor for the university’s interdisciplinary neuroscience program. I received my Ph.D. in philosophy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2023.
My main research interests are in philosophy of mind and philosophy of cognitive science, focusing on questions to do with representational content and the representational skepticism of 4E cognition (embodied, embedded, extended and enactive). I have related research interests in the philosophy of perception, memory and belief, and also in technology ethics. I teach courses in these areas, as well as in applied ethics and critical thinking.
When I’m not doing philosophy, you can find me running, throwing a frisbee, playing volleyball, and obsessing about Star Wars. I also play the guitar, poorly.
